Order or replace a birth certificate in Alberta
Compiled by Mahmoud Halat, checked
Short answer
In Alberta you order a birth certificate through a registry agent, not directly from Vital Statistics. Fill in the Application for Birth Documents and take it with acceptable ID to any registry agent. The government fee is $20 per document, plus the agent's own service fee. Vital Statistics usually processes complete applications within 3 business days, plus mailing time.
