Driver's licence renewal in Ontario
Compiled by Mahmoud Halat, checked
Short answer
New drivers in Ontario must be at least 16 and an Ontario resident, then pass a vision test and a knowledge test at a DriveTest centre to get a G1 licence. Two road tests follow before a full G licence. An Ontario licence lasts 5 years and costs $90 to renew. Many drivers can renew online; the new card arrives by mail in 4 to 6 weeks.
