To register you need your SIN, your date of birth and amounts from a recent assessed tax return. You sign in with a CRA user ID, your online banking (Sign-In Partner) or a BC or Alberta provincial account. GCKey does not work for CRA. There are three ways to register and sign in: a CRA user ID and password, a Sign-In Partner using your online banking details, or a provincial partner (a BC Services Card or an Alberta.ca Account). People who register through a BC or Alberta provincial partner only need their SIN.
